Excellent opportunity for
a Category Management expert to work with some of the brightest
minds in Category Management for the UK's leading provider of
marketing insight and develop actionable customer insight for a
major retailer.
The Category Management
Consultant is ultimately responsible for leading the team working
closely with the retailer's trading units and helping them
integrate insight into the heart of their decision making
process.
Responsibilities:-
- Lead the Category
Management Consultancy team in understanding the existing and
potential insight needs of the client's trading teams and identify
appropriate data to meet those needs.
- Develop team capabilities
& grow width of engagement.
- To demonstrate strong
understanding of the retail market, the commercial environment and
drivers of business performance.
- Act as a conduit between
the client's trading team and supply partners
- To act as a trusted adviser
and main point of contact to traders within the client through
reliable, knowledgeable and innovative data-driven
insight
- Embed the use of customer
data and it's application into the measurement of all relevant
trading activities.
- Manage all the activities
of the business consultant and analyst teams
- Delivery of actionable
cross category insight to senior levels of the client's trading
teams
- Coach the team to deliver
insightful & actionable insight which positively impacts sales
& customer loyalty
Key skills/experience
required:-
- Significant length of
experience (7 years plus) of working in category management,
marketing or sales function in an FMCG manufacturer or a
combination of FMCG & continuous data agency, supplying retail
analysis to food retailers/ FMCGs using both customer, epos and
panel data (e.g. TNS / AC Nielsen data etc..)
- Likely to be educated to
degree level
- Previous experience of
customer loyalty data.
- Detailed knowledge of
category management processes.
- Knowledge of how
segmentation and profiling techniques are used in trading and
marketing
